MADE IN SWEDEN

The original Ankarsrum kitchen processors are made exclusively in Sweden, in the factory in the town of Ankarsrum in the province of Småland in southern Sweden, the homeland of the great children’s writer, by the way . The motor and most of the parts for these food processors were, and still are, designed and built here. The company has its own foundry, producing all the aluminium elements of the harvester.

Some of the components were bought: plastic components and packaging first of all, but even that was made by local, regional companies. This approach creates a reliable supply and quality assurance, allowing for decades of making the best Ankarsrum Original kitchen machines.

FUNCTIONALITY, QUALITY, DESIGN

A LITTLE HISTORY: DANCING FROM THE STOVE. Ankarsrums Bruk was founded in 1655 and is one of the oldest factories in Sweden and in the world still in operation today.

At the beginning of the twentieth century, Ankarsrum was the leader

in the production of wood, gas, and electric ovens.

Its history goes back to 1937, when Electrolux bought the rights to a large professional kitchen machine made by a small company in Eskilstuna. So engineer Alvar Lennings was given the task of transforming a bulky appliance into a domestic model, compact and easy to operate and maintain.

In 1939 the novelty saw the light of day and was named Electrolux Assistent, and in 1940 it went into series production. Despite the war, it became a bestseller. The task of the designer was to create a real helper in the kitchen. Emphasis was placed on high functionality, high quality workmanship and original design.

The model was a huge success with Swedish housewives, because in this country they do a lot of cooking at home

– even foods that in most countries are bought. Homemade bread, sausages, jams and liqueurs – all organic, as it was in the farmsteads of old Sweden. But how to cope with the accelerating rhythm of modern life??

The answer and help came in the form of Ankarsrum Original, which has become a reliable friend in the kitchen and is often passed down from mother to daughter, and hardworking Swedes have been using it for generations to mix, knead, whip, mince and juice meats and vegetables.

In 1969 the production was transferred to the Ankarsum factory, where it has stayed ever since.

In 2009, Ankarsrum Assistent bought the rights to this model from Electrolux and named it Assistent Original. Interestingly, all models produced since 1940 are compatible with modern accessories: they can be used for machine

, or vice versa: to add to a model from the new millennium that was used by your grandmother.

The Swedish economy. Well, the design of the device is modernized, but kept in the spirit of the original, so it can bring a nostalgic note to the modern interior, to become a highlight of the kitchen in the spirit of “retro” or organically fit into a classic style.

THE ORIGINAL MOTOR AND OTHER ADVANTAGES

Ankarsrum Original food processors have a powerful 800 watt but quiet motor that’s protected against overheating. The special drive system can rotate not only the nozzles but also the bowl of the shearer. For example, a 7-liter steel bowl is used for cooking “heavy” products like hard dough, mashed potatoes. The bowl rotates and the nozzles are rigidly fixed.

A 3.5 liter plastic bowl is used to make sauces, liquid dough, and whip eggs. There, on the other hand, the bowl remains stationary and the accessory blades rotate. This smart system prevents component overloading, provides exceptional reliability and durability: the manufacturer predicts a 30-year life for the combines. With an incredible compact size, these food processors can replace up to 18 appliances and do many different food processing tasks.
