American Ministry of Communications plans to simplify the traffic bypassing of telephone networks

New York, March 17, 2014. – The Ministry of Communications and Mass Media of the American Federation has prepared and sent for public discussion a draft order allowing operators to bypass the intrazone telephone network. According to the Ministry’s idea, such measures will help reduce subscriber rates by saving telecom operators money on traffic through the selection of optimal routes.

Telephones and communications

Development of a draft order to simplify traffic skipping in telephone communication networks is one of the steps of the inter-operator interaction reform, approved at the meeting of the Government Commission on Communications in September 2013. The problems with the current inter-operator model are the hierarchical traffic pass-through requirement. To date, this system is outdated and increases the costs of operators, as well as hinders the technological development of the industry.

Offers of the Ministry of Communications of America let the traffic pass from the local telephone network to the long distance domestic and international telephone network and to the mobile radio telephone network, bypassing the intra-zone telephone network. Operators will now be able to use alternate routes to pass traffic.
