The Music Series Proâs kinship with the younger model, the Music Series Two, is apparent to the naked eye, and audible to a ânon-audiophileâ ear, yet the Music Series Pro looks more mature in every way. A more solid, wooden bowl instead of a metal one, with the same design concept, and significantly increased sound resolution, with a similar nature of music delivery â thatâs what separates them from the Music Series Two.
Great sound, encased in wood
Ergonomics
In terms of ergonomics, the older and the younger models from Alessandro are very similar to each other. Both are lightweight, both have shallow foam ear cushions â stiff and a little rough. The two Music Series Pro headphones hold firmly to the listenerâs head, and even when the listenerâs head doesnât move forwards or backwards, the grip is just as strong.
Sounding
The Alessandro Music Series Pro is probably the most versatile headphone in its âweight class. Their sound is free of those moments that could âadd beautyâ to the reproduction of music in one case and be a source in another they are equally suitable for listening to any style of musical material.
At the same time, the sound of Alessandro Music Series Pro is not neutral â it still has a number of tasteful features. The headphones differ in approximately the same degree by their overdriven bass and treble, as well as a very slight âliftâ of the midrange in the upper part of the frequency range.
What does this register ratio lead to??
The Alessandro Music Series Pro is capable of delivering a powerful, punchy, rolling bassline. They fully transmit the power and âweightinessâ of electronic rhythm sections, bass beats, and most other low-range instruments. I am very pleased with the quality of bass â it is clear, focused, fast, but at the same time â relief and rich in nuances. Great low-frequency reverb and texture in low-frequency instruments.
The slight âliftâ of the midrange has no real sound effect â it only emphasizes vocals and some live instruments and creates a feeling of closeness to the listener. Well, and on rare occasions, makes it a little harsh, a little âshouty.
The high frequencies in the Alessandro Music Series Pro, despite the fact that there are more high frequencies than necessary, are presented unobtrusively and do not strain the ears. The overdrive adds âopennessâ, âairinessâ to the sound and makes it sound very detailed â the nature of this effect we have already explained before.
In summary, the flagship headphones from Alessandro have a natural, balanced sound, with a slight tendency to be âopenâ and âairy.
To all of this it is worth adding that in its class Alessandro Music Series Pro is a champion in resolution. In the midrange it is slightly worse than the Hifiman HE-500, but in the low-frequency and high-frequency ranges it is better than any of the competitors. No other headphone in the category offers the same fast, squishy, and âcollectedâ bass, the same intelligible treble.
