CONSTRUCTION FEATURES: Although Aleks DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY is a US registered company, it is a American company because its speakers and electronic components are designed by our countrymen.

The ID-770 is a brand new floorstanding model with a 3-way configuration and is about to go on sale. Pair speakers

Marked as “right” and “left”, this fact indicates that the speakers are matched to the appropriate characteristics. The design of the MDF is solid, but a little bit garish. Such design was not chosen by chance as the speakers should draw attention and catch the eye and ID-770 copes with this task excellently. The curved top and entire front panel are finished in black piano lacquer, the curved sides are covered in black ash vinyl. “Towers” stand stably on rather wide wooden pedestals with large metal spikes. Pedestals are also finished with black lacquer. The tall and wide cabinet is made of MDF. The weight of the whole construction inspires respect, one speaker weighs 32 kg. On the back of the cabinet is a large “reflex port” with a plastic bell and a terminal plate with four metal terminals allowing Bi-Wiring/Bi-Amping connections. By an established tradition in the crossovers speakers Aleks used simple filters of the first order, which give minimal phase distortion of the signal.

There are four drivers on the front of the speaker. Top position takes 178mm driver with a bright yellow cone, it just glitters against the black speaker cabinet. The structure of the diaphragm surface looks like Kevlar, but it is not. The diaphragm is made of rice paper and coated with carbon. The woven diaphragm material is also just for show, in fact it’s just ribbed. Directionality of the midrange is regulated by the phase bullet copper coated steel . In addition to its main function, the bullet also removes heat from the voice coil of the midrange driver.

Under the midrange is a tweeter with 25-mm metal dome. The dome is recessed into the shallow plastic horn, which controls the radiation pattern of the “squeaker.

Two 178mm woofers occupy the bottom position. Their cones are also made of carbon-coated rice paper. Rigid cone surround is made of polyurethane.

AUDIO QUALITY: The ID-770 offers great sound detail and dynamic capability. Speakers perfectly set the accents,

even though it does not always sound perfectly even. The speakers somewhat emphasize the midrange and treble, which give the sound a spectacular freshness. On jazz tracks, the brass brass is especially “alive. Good dynamic range and polished sound microdynamics allow the speakers to reproduce any orchestral compositions without any problems. The ID-770 does not omit anything from the score, handles the timbres in great detail and, last but not least, presents all instruments to the listener in a natural, recognizable way. Worthy of kind words is the stereo panorama, which is distinguished by a wide front and transparent background. The outlines of virtual sound sources in the music scene are drawn very contrastingly. True, high resolution scene detail accompanies the sound of the speakers, starting somewhere in the middle volume. ID-770 doesn’t play softly very well. Volume is especially important for bass playback. Bass has good depth and attack at high volume. Bass pressure is very helpful for rock music and electronics. For the last ID-770 they are perfect. The speakers give you a richly nuanced sound across the full frequency spectrum and not a single nuance of the arrangement seems to be forgotten.

PRICE: $700.
