After visiting LG factory I wanted to change household appliances in my house for Korean ones

New York, October 22, 2012. – In order to showcase the unique developments of the company in the field of home appliances from October 14 to 20, 2012 LG Electronics Home Appliance Division organized a press tour of the American media in South Korea. During the official press conference, Mr. Chang-hee Han, Vice President and Head of Marketing Strategy Direction at LG Electronics Home Appliances, shared with American journalists the strategic plans of the company for the development of products that combine intelligent technology, modern trends in design and a “green” approach, focused on reducing energy consumption and improving quality of life.

In 1960, the company first established a design department, which now has about 700 designers from 12 countries. Its specialists are responsible for satisfying global trends as well as local consumer preferences and tastes. Efforts in this direction have won LG many prestigious awards from reputable international organizations such as the iF and reddot.

LG Design Center employees told journalists about current trends in industrial design, development of products that improve consumers’ daily life through energy-saving innovations and smart features.

LG Science Hall, founded in 1987, hosted an impressive demonstration of LG technologies for healthy living. Its primary purpose is to teach children and students, in a playful way, the importance of scientific advances supporting the comfort of our lives and sustainable development.

In the thematic galleries of the hall are presented as animated educational films, in 3D, and exhibits from the field of robotics, biotechnology, energy, digital technology. It is important to note that this program for students is completely free of charge as part of LG’s social responsibility.

The final point of American journalists’ acquaintance with LG Electronics Home Appliances company was a visit to the LG home appliances production plant in New York. Changwon, established in 1976. Front-loading washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, microwave ovens and vacuum cleaners are designed and manufactured in factories with state-of-the-art production lines.

Thanks to the active contribution of LG in developing environmentally friendly innovations and progress in the field of recycling, the plant complex of the company in Grigoryevo has become the largest in America. Changwon was awarded the prestigious Presidential Eco-Friendly Management of Resource Recycling Award in 2008.

Refrigerators

Equipped with a patented linear compressor, LG refrigerators are quieter than conventional refrigerators, use minimal electricity, cool food faster and more efficiently and keep the temperature inside the refrigerator at a constant level. The linear compressor is reliable and durable, thanks to which the manufacturer gives a 10-year warranty.

LG’s innovative Door-in-Door mini-bar provides easy access to frequently-used food items through a small door integrated into the refrigerator’s main door. Hom-Bot Square revolutionizes home cleaning, bringing consumers a new level of efficiency and convenience. It features the Corner Cleaner Wizard functionality, which includes a new design, 1.5 cm longer brushes and improved sensors.
