AEG ProFresh No Frost: humid air in the refrigerator, dry air in the freezer

Fresh fruit and vegetables are essential for a healthy diet. When it is not possible to buy food daily, a fridge with a freezer equipped with modern features will help to keep vitamins and nutrients in them for a long time. The new AEG ProFresh fridge-freezer with No Frost technology provides ideal food storage conditions.

The integrated TwinTech system uses two separate cooling circuits to ensure the best possible conditions in each of the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Humid air circulates in the AEG ProFresh cooling compartment and dry air in the freezer compartment.

The innovative No Frost technology uses dry air in particular, which prevents ice formation, making the time-consuming process of defrosting a thing of the past.

In addition, ProFresh is presented in a new, unusual for household appliances design. The elegant black color of the SANTO S83200CMB2 combination fridge-freezer is a constant eye-catcher in the kitchen.

Constant freshness

Conventional fridge-freezers with No Frost technology have only one air circuit. So the air in the fridge is usually very dry, which has a negative effect on the quality of the food, because it often dries out as it releases moisture.

“Independent tests show that food stored in the new AEG ProFresh model retains up to 99 percent water for up to seven days. This means that their freshness and quality is actually unaffected,” explains Stefan Höfler, Product Manager for Refrigeration at Electrolux Deutschland.

Additional functions to keep food fresh:

• FreshBox with rapid frosting – a special compartment with a lower temperature than the rest of the fridge-freezer, especially for storing meat and fish.

  FreshBox allows you to quickly and easily lower the temperature to the right level to cool foods that will need to be stored close together for long periods of time.

• The new Maxibox 44-litre vegetable bin, unparalleled in size on the market today, has telescopic rails and the ability to change its capacity. The container has removable dividers and double shelves that prevent food from coming into contact with the condensate on the bottom.

• The humidity in the entire cold room can be adjusted to the optimum level with the new “Humidity” function. It is used for delicate, quick-drying foods such as strawberries, mushrooms or lettuce.

• Special CleanAir filter helps to preserve the natural aroma of food by absorbing odors inside the refrigerator.

ProFresh-Plus with MultiAir-Flow

In addition the AEG ProFresh Plus is equipped with the innovative MultiAir-Flow system. Thanks to this technology, a constant flow of cooled air on all levels of the refrigerator circulates evenly.

This provides stable storage conditions in every refrigerated area and protects your products from extreme temperature fluctuations. The MultiAir-Flow system redistributes the cooled air in the refrigerator compartment and accelerates the cooling of the lower part of the compartment and restores the temperature regime after opening the door.

The sophisticated design of the AEG ProFresh is inspired by the latest Neue Kollektion product line.

In addition, the handles on the refrigerator door are made of high-quality, stainless steel with a brushed, easy-to-clean protective coating that leaves no fingerprints. AEG ProFresh has been available at retail since November 2011.

Its appearance is so elegant that at first glance it is hard to guess how much freshness is inside. Stainless steel handles and a large, slightly curved door give the refrigerator an extra touch of elegance.

The glass shelves and translucent, lightly blue storage compartment on the refrigerator door have fine metallized stripes.

The combined refrigerator-freezer is controlled by a state-of-the-art liquid crystal touchscreen display that allows temperature and humidity to be adjusted instantly.

Energy-saving LED lighting inside the refrigerator provides a good view of the food stored, with LEDs lasting 20 times longer than conventional light bulbs. An important advantage is that when the door is opened, the light intensity increases smoothly up to the maximum level in just 2 seconds.

The top models in the AEG ProFresh range are energy efficiency class A++, which means they consume 40 percent less energy than the upper limit for class A appliances.
