Acer unveiled updated Swift and Aspire lines at IFA 2018

At the next@acer Global Press Conference at the IFA Show in Berlin today, Acer unveiled the worldā€™s lightest 15-inch notebook, the Swift 5 SF515-51T , and the redesigned Swift 3 series, which features ultra-thin 13.3-inch and 14-inch displays. The company also updated its classic Aspire series and introduced the new Aspire Z24 monoblock, as well as the Aspire 7, Aspire 5 and Aspire 3 notebook lines.

The Acer Aspire Z24 is a family-friendly home monoblock thatā€™s designed to get online and do simple tasks like web surfing, social media and video viewing, simple gaming. The computer fits well into living room interiors: itā€™s very thin ā€“ only 11 mm, has a beautiful back cover and a very narrow frame, which helped to increase the screen area. Amazon Alexa now works on more Acer devices

The Aspire Z24 all-in-one, Aspire 7 and Aspire 5 notebooks with eighth-generation Intel Core processors join the list of Alexa-enabled devices. More notebook and desktop owners will now be able to use Alexa when they need to check their calendar, get an answer to a question, create a list. Alexa also knows how to turn on your favorite music, podcasts or audiobooks, control smart home devices including lamps, thermostats and appliances. The assistant is also available with a library of tens of thousands of third-party features.

Acer introduced a new version of the ultra-portable 14-inch Swift 5 SF514-53T with the latest 8th generation Intel Core processors, which not only boost the notebookā€™s performance, but also extend its battery life. The Intel Core i7-8565U and Intel Core i5-8265U used in the notebook are ready to handle the most demanding tasks for up to 8 hours4 unplugged.

The sleek Swift 5 SF514-53T with its 14-inch Full HD display weighs just 970 grams and is no thicker than 14.9mm, making it a great choice for those who want to carry a full-featured desktop at all times. The 14-inch Swift 5 also has an ultra-lightweight magnesium-lithium alloy body with a magnesium-aluminum handstand. The new 13.3-inch and 14-inch Swift 3 Series are easily recognized by the thin bezels around the screens, sleek metal casing and 180-degree notebook lid opening capabilities.

The Swift 3 SF313-51 is a powerful 13-inch laptop with a full HD screen and optional 4G LTE modem. The computerā€™s enclosure is no thicker than 15.9 mm and weighs 1.3 kg. LTE modem lets Swift 3 stay connected in the absence of Wi-Fi networks, which you can connect to with a high-speed 802.11ac 2X2. Swift 3 SF314-55/SF314-55G with 14ā€³ Full HD display and 6mm bezels weighs 1.4kg but still retains 14.9mm thickness typical of all updated Acer Swift lineup. The laptops run Intel Core i7-8565U/i5-8265U/i3-8145U processors, with up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of solid state NVMe storage, respectively. The 14-inch Swift 3 also includes an NVIDIAĀ® GeForceĀ® MX150 discrete graphics adapter, making these notebooks suitable for graphics-intensive tasks such as video rendering or non-professional gaming. Swift 3 comes standard with 802 wireless adapter.11ac 2X2 and a USB 3 connector.1 Type-C Gen 2.

The Swift 3 SF314-56/SF-314-56G gets the same 14-inch Full HD screen, processor and graphics as the Swift 3 SF314-55 described above, but they are encased in a larger chassis that allowed for a traditional hard drive, giving the user more storage capacity at a much lower cost. The model also features a large touchpad, which are usually installed in laptops with 15.6-inch screens.

Price and availability

The Acer Aspire Z24 will be available in October. Pricing will start at $899 in North America and from $899 in EMEA &euro 899,99.

The Acer Aspire 5 will go on sale in EMEA in December 2018, priced from &euro 549.

The Acer Aspire 3 will be available in EMEA in December 2018, priced from &euro 399

The Acer Swift 5 with 15-inch screen SF515-51T will be available in Europe in November 2018 at a recommended price of &euro 1,099.

The Acer Swift 5 with a 14-inch screen SF514-53T will be available in Europe in September 2018 at a recommended price of $999.

Acer Swift 3 with 13-inch screen SF313-51 will be available in Europe in October 2018 at a recommended price of &euro 799.

The Acer Swift 3 with 14-inch screens SF314-55 and SF314-56 will be available in Europe in November 2018 for a recommended price of $799 and January 2019 for a recommended price of &euro 799.
