Acer unveiled its first 12-inch Chromebooks at the 2019 BETT Education Expo: the Acer Chromebook Spin 512 and Chromebook 512. Devices are targeted to the field of education. The new Acer Chromebook features 3:2 aspect ratio displays and a rugged design that enhances your learning experience. Acer products, including the new Acer Chromebook 512 and Spin 512, will be on display at BETT from January 23-26 at booth B100 in Hall N1-19.

Military-grade durability, toy safety standards compliant
The new Acer Chromebook Spin 512 and Chromebook 512 meet stringent U.S. military MIL-STD 810G standards and can withstand a drop of up to 122 cm and a load of up to 60 kg thanks to a reinforced design and shock absorbing bumper. In addition, the new Acer Chromebooks are designed for young children as well, and are certified to meet two leading toy safety standards ā ASTM F963-16 and UL/IEC 60950-1.
The water-resistant keyboard features a drainage system that drains water away from internal components and out through the bottom of the case, so itās safe from 330 ml of spilled water. The touchpads are waterproof, too, and keyboard maintenance is easily handled by the schoolās IT department.

The new Acer Chromebooks feature 3:2 aspect ratio displays, giving you 18% more vertical space than a 16:9 display of the same diagonal. As a result, students see more information, maps, photos, and schoolwork on the same screen. The 12-inch HD+ displays with IPS technology have a resolution of 1366 x 912 pixels.
The Acer Chromebook Spin 512 touch display is coated with Corning Gorilla Glass, which is anti-microbial, scratch-resistant and bacteria-resistant. The screen is ideal for students to share it in varied settings throughout the school day.
Chromebook 512 can be opened 180 degrees, placed horizontally on the table and used together with other students during classes or school projects. Touch and plain display models will be available. Chromebook 512 also features mechanically secured keys that are both difficult to break out and easy to replace, making it ideal for use in school environments.
The Chromebook Spin 512 transformer has an optional 8-megapixel camera on the lid, while the standard Chromebook 512 has an optional 5-megapixel camera. So, students can take high quality pictures and videos for school projects. Students can also video chat and Google Hangouts with the Acer HD webcam above the display.
