Acer launches the portable projector for home and office C101i

Acer announces the launch of a portable projector C101i in America. Equipped with a rechargeable battery and Wi-Fi connection, it has the widest application field – in the office and meetings, at home, on the road and on vacation.

High-quality images up to 64-inch diagonal resolution of 854×480 pixels are created using DLP technology with LED-backlit. Featuring LED, the C101i delivers 150 ANSI-lumen output at 1,200:1 contrast ratio. The projector is not heated and provides maximum light output immediately after powering on. The C101i doesn’t require replacing expensive lamps, which makes it very economical to use – the LED life is about 30,000 hours, which is about the same as 15,000 films or more than three years of uninterrupted viewing.

The Acer C101i has a surprisingly small size – 118x121x26 mm and weighs 265 grams. The projector fits in your bag or even pocket without making you uncomfortable. Inside such a tiny size there is a 3,400 mAh Li-Ion battery which provides 120 minutes of projection time in ECO mode, which is enough not only for presentations but even for watching a full-length movie. In case your smartphone needs to be recharged immediately, the projector supports power bank mode.

The projector is capable of displaying images from virtually any device. Built-in Wi-Fi and AirPlay and Miracast support lets you connect your smartphone or tablet to the C101i for transporting screen shots, streaming movies, photos and mobile gaming, which makes it perfect for when entertaining children or watching movies away from home. The built-in speaker eliminates the need for an external speaker system, but if desired, sound from the projector can be output to the speakers through 3.5mm audio output.

The EZCast app, available for iOS and Android, allows you to make presentations from your smartphone just as you would do on a laptop. The projector can be connected to a public Wi-Fi network as well as connected directly to a mobile device or computer for offsite presentations.

Video technology

Image transfer to the projector from any source can be done wirelessly or via cable. The projector has two HDMI connectors, one of which serves as a signal output to an external monitor or TV. So the C101i can become a media receiver, adding smart TV functions to the external screen.

The projector is not only highly functional in a small size, but also extremely easy to install and configure. The C101i comes with a handy pocket-sized tripod so you can place it on any surface and adjust the image to best suit the needs of the venue – meeting room, apartment, classroom or even outdoors.

This new portable projector by Acer seems impressive as it caters to both home and office needs. However, I’m curious to know more about its features and specifications. Does it support HD resolution? How bright is the projection? And most importantly, how long does the battery last? Is it suitable for outdoor use as well?
