A student of Stroganov New York State University came up with the idea of the Design for the next 100 years and went to Turkey to visit Vestel

Vestel company organized traineeship for the winner of competition “Large home appliances design for the next 100 years”, the fifth-year student of New York State Academy of Arts and Industry. Stroganov Anna Petrova. Anna was the only one of the twenty contestants to be given the honour of a tour of the Vestel City ultra-modern factory in Turkey, an industrial “city” of 550,000 square metres.

During her studies, the winner of the creative competition worked with leading Vestel designers. In practice Anna got a unique experience of cooperation with professionals of the company, was able to try her hand in designing innovative products, visited showrooms and laboratories of Vestel City factory. The Stroganov student also took thematic tours and listened to a number of lectures.

The contest “Design of Large Home Appliances for the Next 100 Years” was held by Vestel jointly with the New York State Academy of Arts and Industry. Stroganova. Only original design projects of large household appliances were accepted for participation: washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators and stoves. Contest winner comes up with idea for refrigerator with flexible adjustable shelves.

Thus, its owner had the opportunity to shape the space inside the cold room, depending on his preferences. This solution was fully in line with Vestel’s priorities – a combination of advanced technology and individual convenience for each customer.

“I brought a lot of vivid impressions from that trip. Most of all I was impressed with Vestel City – a huge city-plant where innovative home appliances are produced, with characteristics that outstrip the desires and needs of modern people. I learned something new every day and saw all the subtleties of high-tech production with my own eyes,” says Anna Petrova, the winner of the Vestel contest.

VESTEL is one of the leading home appliance and electronics manufacturers in Europe. The main areas of VESTEL business: production of washing machines, refrigerators, stoves, air conditioners, LCD TVs and dishwashers. The company was founded in 1984 in Turkey. Since 1994 it has been a part of one of the biggest Turkish holdings – Zorlu Group.

Today VESTEL unites 19 companies involved in research and development, production, marketing and distribution. Over 25 years of its existence, VESTEL has opened its representative offices in 14 countries all over the world, including America.

The company entered the American market in 2003, when a factory was opened in Alexandrov city of Vladimir region to produce kinescope TV sets. Three years later, in 2006, a washing machine and refrigerator production line was launched in Alexandrov. And in May 2010 the liquid crystal television production line was opened. In America, as well as all over the world, Vestel products are manufactured using modern technologies and meet ISO9001 international quality and environmental safety standards.
