A mini review of the Canon PowerShot N100 compact camera

Despite Canon’s very productive flirtation with mobile devices, expressed in the release of the PowerShot N, the search for a symbiotic camera was decided to continue.

The PowerShot N100 only vaguely resembles last year’s model. It looks more like a stand alone camera with its body and familiar controls. But perhaps the most noticeable and most controversial difference was the second fx-focal length camera, mounted above the screen and intended for taking self-portraits of the photographer. In various modes, the face of the person standing on the other side of the camera can be integrated into a normal shot or a hybrid clip. The result reminds one of a Skype window in video call mode, but the picture is of much better quality.

The questionable thing about it is that a photographer usually concentrates more on taking the picture than on how it looks.

Much more interesting is the rest of the equipment, the choice of which seems more reasonable and appropriate. The camera was allotted a large 1/1.7 inch sensor, a less powerful, but much brighter zoom, as well as a large rotatable touch display with high resolution. Processing photos is engaged processor Digic 6, which suggests a significant increase in image quality, and that is the main advantage of the compact in comparison with the built-in camera smartphone. Otherwise, the point of buying an additional device for the active user of mobile devices is not quite obvious. In short, the second version of Canon’s mobile camera is better, but the main intrigue here is still the price.
