In 2011 Epson exploded the market and introduced Epson Printing Factory line of printers and MFPs with built-in ink tanks instead of ink cartridges for the first time in the world.

This series was developed based on the requests of American users and became a new step in the development of inkjet printing in general. Device design allowed to reduce cost of printing to record levels and starter ink set – to print up to 3 years without refills! “Epson Printing Factory” for several years already holds the first place in American inkjet printing market with the share of more than 50% in money terms[2].

Building on the success of the Factory, Epson actively entered the business segment in 2014 with Epson WorkForce Pro RIPS series printers and MFPs for high volume printing. These powerful machines also use high-capacity removable containers instead of cartridges, and the starter ink set is designed for 75,000 A4 prints. Epson WorkForce Pro RIPS have become a great alternative to legacy laser printers and MFPs, delivering up to 40% lower cost of ownership[3].
